How to Know When to
Quite Your Job, and then Do It
If
Monday mornings fill you with dread, investing in a franchise could bring you a
refreshing career change and enduring satisfaction. Sometimes when people are feeling undervalued
and believe they have the potential to do more, they must reconsider their
situation. One key sign that a career
change might be a good move is that you’re not having fun in your job anymore.
Entrepreneurship
isn’t for everyone. People who feel
stuck in their job should talk to their managers. Sometimes growth opportunities are available
when people openly communicate their needs.
If you continue doing what you’re doing and can reach your goals, maybe
franchising isn’t for you.
A
crucial question is: Would a new job help to solve this? Working for someone else might be gratifying
and offer the security of a regular paycheck, but the boss is always in
control. You can’t be fired from your
own business.
You
must consider multiple factors when you’re thinking about franchising. It’s especially important for professionals
who don’t have entrepreneurial experience.
People
must assess what’s important to them.
Most want to control their own time and destiny. Potential franchise owners must also ponder
what they want to do daily. Jumping into
the franchise world shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Potential
entrepreneurs need to think where they want to be in 10, 15, and 20 years. Financial security, collage costs for
children and, and retirement must also be considered. There are franchises that are recession proof
and can help folks control their future.
Many
first-time franchise owners are in their 40s and 50s. They are reluctant to take a big risk, and
that’s the beauty of franchising. Owners
have a system that’s already in place.
It’s not built around one person, as most small business are. Many franchisees find peace of mind by using
the Small Business Administration for loans.
The
strength and viability of a proven brand reduce the risk of failure. The probability is low when you follow the
system. Franchising give owners the
option of going on vacation without the business falling apart. It also creates value when it comes to
selling and setting up an exit strategy.
I would like to
