January 6, 2021

On January 6, 2021 there was a demonstration at the Capital.  It was a “mostly peaceful” demonstration that got out of control.  I do not condone violence.

The House of Representatives has formed a commission to investigate the demonstration. It is supposed to be a bi-partisan investigation, but obviously is not.  The House Speaker has refused to allow Republicans Jim Jordan and Jim Banks serve on the committee.  She only wants RINO Republicans and not anyone who will ask real questions about what happened. Pelosi clearly does not have this authority and this action should void any authority of the committee.

The first item on the committee’s agenda should be who murdered Ashley Babbitt?  She was an unarmed, female veteran that was not threatening anyone and was killed by the police.  If she was black and killed by a white officer, it would be totally different.

The second item should be to release the many hours of video that have been kept secret.  What are Democrats hiding?  The videos must not support their agenda.  I am sure if the videos were bad for the protestors, they would have been made public.

Third, the demonstration was planned for some time, and many people asked Speaker Pelosi for more security.  She never provided any additional security.  Why?  Was she just incompetent or did she have a more sinister agenda?

The fourth item should be how many FBI agents, informants, and spies had infiltrated the demonstration, and what role did they play?   We know FBI had infiltrated the demonstration, but what role did they play in turning it into a riot?

After the sham investigation of January 6, there needs to be real investigations into the BLM and ANTIFA riots which clearly qualify as domestic terrorism.

Why is the Left above the law and conservatives are constantly harassed and investigated when they have done nothing wrong.  This has to change, or our freedoms are gone.

  2. I agree with much of Mr. Lee’s latest blog. A major exception is that what he described as a demonstration was actually attempted insurrection, as the previous comment stated. Anyone watching TV the afternoon of January 6 could not possibly call the scene a demonstration.

I agree the case of Ashley Babbitt should be investigated. I would like to know why she came to the Capital that day and why she was attempting to break into the house chamber. She was not “mostly peaceful.” I would like her friends, relatives and associates testify providing insight to her motives. The police officer that was trying to protect the chamber should also be able to testify regarding the circumstances he encountered as shown on video.

Just who were some of the “many people” asking Speaker Pelosi for more security? The Capital Police asked the Sargent of Arms of the House for more security, but the request was not taken to the Speaker. By the way, McConnell was in charge of security for the Senate chamber and I have not heard of anyone asking about his responsibility for security.

I would very much like to have the FBI agents and/or their superiors testify to what they learned while imbedded within the insurrectionists. Gathering information can be called “spying,” but this is what undercover work is. In Michigan, imbedded FBI prevented the planned abduction and a potential assassination attempt on the Governor. At the U.S. Capital we are continuing to learn what the FBI and other investigators observed and as they gather additional evidence to prosecute over 500 insurrectionists.

Now I disagree on what Mr. Lee reports. What videos have been kept secret? Is something known but is not net public? (aka Nixon tapes) The last new video to be released was on the first day if the hearings. Are there really more? Please specify.

As to investigations into the BLM and ANTIFA riots, I believe those alleged demonstrations have occurred across a number of U.S. cities. Those cities and states are investigating, and have begun prosecuting many of the perpetrators of those crimes. The crimes associated with the attempted insurrection of the Nation’s Capital are the matter of the Federal government and Congress.

Mr. Lee was correct in stating the investigating was “supposed to be a bi-partisan investigation.” It was negotiated as such by a negotiator appointed by House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy. The 50:50 representation was approved by the House, but subsequently rejected by the Senate Republicans. That left the House Speaker with no choice but to appoint a 13-member select committee to investigate the January 6 events. McCarthy named 5 Republican members, including two who challenged the legitimacy of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The Speaker then rejected Jim Jordan and Jim Banks based on their incendiary remarks. McCarthy responded by withdrawing the remaining 3 Republicans from participation in the investigation.

Following Mr. Lee’s testimony suggestions, I have a much-expanded list of additional people that the committee can subpoena. The list and its reasoning are too long to include here but will follow in an additional comment.

  3. continued....

Here’s the list and the reasoning: Jim Jordan, Ali Alexander, Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs, Mo Brooks, Brian Jack, Adam Piper, Steve Cohen, John Yarmouth, Lauren Boebert, Tim Ryan, Mikie Sherrill, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Jaime Herrera Beutler and Kevin McCarthy. All these witnesses can give relevant testimony under oath,

Jim Jordan. Two days after the election Jordan was in Harrisburg, PA calling for stopping the vote count in Pennsylvania. On December 21, Jordan attended private meetings at the White House with Trump and several other Republican House members where they strategized over a last-ditch effort to overturn the election results. Recently Jordan has admitted he spoke with Trump on the day of the attempted insurrection. He is a material witness.

Ali Alexander, who claimed he and Arizona Representatives Paul Gosar, and Andy Biggs, and Mo Brooks of Alabama conceived of the idea. All 4 should be subpoenaed to testify.

On January 5, Adam Piper, the executive director of the Republican Attorneys General Association participated in a call organized by personnel at White House to help plan the rally and events of 6 January. Robocalls went out to Republican activists. “At 1pm, we will march to the Capitol building and call on Congress to stop the steal,” said the robocall. We are hoping patriots like you will join us to continue to fight to protect the integrity of our elections.”

Also on January 5, Brian Jack, the political director in the White House, called Mo Brooks to ask him to address the “Stop the Steal” rally on 6 January. Jack should testify as to his directive to ask Brooks to speak. Did he act under his own prerogative or was he ordered to do so? (Kevin McCarthy has since hired Brian Jack as his political director.)

Mo Brooks in particular should testify and explain basis for the rousing speech he gave on the morning of January 6 that included a fiery call for Trump supporters at the Ellipse to “start taking down names and kicking ass.” Brooks noted how “our ancestors” sacrificed their “blood, their sweat, their tears, their fortunes, and sometimes their lives” while asking the audience if they were “willing to do the same.” Are you willing to do what it takes to fight for America!” Brooks yelled before telling rally attendees to “carry the message to Capitol Hill” and that “the fight begins today.”

Steve Cohen, D, TN, stated he and John Yarmouth, D, KY, saw Lauren Boebert, R, CO leading a “large group” through the Capitol complex in the days before the insurrection. She denied she had led any such “tours”.

On the morning of January 6 Boebert tweeted, “Today is 1776,”.

Tim Ryan, D, OH disclosed that federal prosecutors are “reviewing the footage” of video taken within the Capitol to determine if any House members engaged in “reconnaissance” missions with insurrectionists.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D, FL said: “I do know that, yes, there were members that gave tours to individuals who participated in the riot.” Representative Mikie Sherrill, D, NJ said she witnessed Republican House members on 5 January conducting what she described as a walk-through for “reconnaissance for the next day”. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R, WA, stated Kevin McCarthy called Trump during the siege of the Capitol to ask him publicly to call off the rioters.
