Obama vs. Trump

Obama’s Accomplishments:

·       First black President  

·       Worst economic recovery & growth in history

·       Record high debt

·       Gave Iran billions that supported terrorism      

·       Lied about doctors & insurance under Obama Care        

·       Health care costs increased

·        “Lead From Behind” foreign policy was a disaster

·       Apologized for American exceptionalism

·       Released 5 terrorists in exchange for traitor Bergdahl

·       8 years of war – Longest wartime President

·       Record high poverty level & food stamps

·       Disregarded the Constitution

·       Violated Constitution & immigration laws with DACA

·       Promoted open borders

·       Advocated globalsim

·       Huge expansion of government

·       Record number of mass shootings

·       Racial division increased for political purposes

·       Allowed men in women’s bathrooms

·       Used national intelligence and law enforcement agencies for corrupt political purposes

Trump’s Accomplishments:

·       Tax cuts for individuals and business

·       Eliminated unnecessary business regulations

·       Record job growth

·       Record low black, Hispanic, & female unemployment

·       Worked for fair trade practices and policies

·       Energy independence

·       Securing our borders

·       Enforcing the Constitution and law & order

·       Excellent Supreme Court nominations

·       Enforced immigration laws & is working for reform

·       Combating human trafficking and drug gangs

·       Supporting the VA and our military

·       Effective war on radical Islamic tourists

·       Making Europe pay their share in NATO

·       Got out of bad Iran deal

·       Got out of Paris Climate Accord joke

·       Talks with North Korea, China, and Russia

·       Named Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

·       Donating his Presidential salary

      I had a list of about 4 dozen specific accomplishment, but that would take too much space.  Basically Trump keeps his campaign promises.  How unique.

        Isn’t it interesting how Obama blamed President Bush for all his problems, but now tries to take credit for all of President Trump’s successes?  Obama made history as the first black President, but history will show him as the worst President in history.  Trump may be the greatest in history for saving our republic and Constitution.

Stress

        Stress is bad for our health in many ways, but is a part of life.  Stress can affect our sleep, cause stomach problems, cause high blood pressure, and many other physical and mental issues. 

        I had stomach problems for over 45 years.  I tried Tagamet, Zantac, and others.  I ate antacids like candy.  When it was bad in later years, I learned a shot of blackberry brandy provided the most relief. 

        About a year ago I had a heart attach.  The hospital pharmacist said he could fix the stomach issue.  He put me on pantoprazole and I have not taken an antacid or had stomach pain since. 

        Part of my problem was stress.  I had a To Do list every workday that was always too long and never got completed.  When I did not reach my goals, my stomach usually started to hurt. 

        I still have a To Do list and I still never complete it, but now, I don’t care.  Medication and mental attitude can both reduce stress. 

        I heard about a college that had a mandatory college course to teach students how to handle stress.  Good idea, but if a student found the course too stressful; they could opt out of the class.  Are you kidding me?  Coddling college students certainly does not prepare them for the real world.  It’s a jungle out there.

        When Donald Trump was elected President, some colleges cancelled tests and assignments because students were stressed about the outcome of the election.  Our education system teaching extreme liberal propaganda created that situation.  Students should have been celebrating Trump’s victory as if their school had just won a national championship. 

        Our education system is too liberal today.  Socialism is taught as an option when it has never worked in the history of the world.  We no longer teach our children to respect our country, our flag, and the office of the Presidency.  Courses are taught that do nothing to teach the student to make a living in the real world.  I can see why some can never leave the world of academia.  Others go out into the job market having learned no work ethic. 

        Our educational system should teach personal responsibility, accurate history, ethics, and usable skills for earning a living.  Giving participation trophies and coddling hurt feelings is not healthy or helpful.  No wonder students are too stressed to function.

Nike

        I recently read Phil Knight’s Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike.  I found it very interesting.  As I read the book, I kept thinking how amazing it was that he did everything wrong and still succeeded.  At the time he wrote the book, he said he was worth about $10 billion.

        Knight started out selling Tiger shoes that were made in Japan.  He called his company Blue Ribbon.  He was not involved full-time in the beginning and was an atrocious manager.  I know a couple business schools use Nike as a case study and I can see why.

What did Knight do right? 

·       He took a trip to Asia.

·       He made a deal with a Japanese shoe company to buy their shoes and sell them in the US.

·       His college track coach partnered with him and designed athletic shoes. 

·       He had a few early employees who were totally devoted to Blue Ribbon and to selling athletic shoes.  They did it out of the trunk of their personal cars.

·       He picked the great name Nike and the “swoosh” logo almost by chance.

·       He was terrible at marketing except for courting athletes and buying their endorsements.

·       And most importantly, he picked a product with a huge emerging market.

         

        Phil Knight is retired, but I am sure he has a lot of influence over Nike.   Nike recently picked Colin Kaepernick as the face of their ‘Just Do It’ ad campaign.  Is this a smart move, a dumb move, or an irrevocable error?   

        Colin Kaepernick started taking a knee before NFL games when the national anthem was played to protest his perceived mistreatment of blacks by the police.  The protest spread, but did little to promote the cause.  Many people feel that taking a knee disrespects the flag, the national anthem, the police, the military, and the country.

        Many fans have stopped watching NFL football because of this show of disrespect for the flag and country.  TV viewers and revenues are down.  With the exception of a quick peek at the Packers, I won’t watch the NFL until they show the national anthem with the players standing with hands over their hearts.

        Now Nike is endorsing this disrespect for the flag by making Kaepernick the face of their advertising.  Nike stock has already taken a big hit. If I had any Nike shoes or apparel, I would burn them or throw them in the garbage. 

        I don’t have any Nike gear because I am not big on paying a premium for an average product because of the name.  I also prefer to buy products made in America.  I certainly did not like the fact that most Nike products are made in countries that have atrocious work conditions. 

        It will be interesting to see what happens with the NFL and Nike.

Life, Liberty & Levine

       I  watched Life, Liberty & Levin  on  Sunday,  8/26/2018.  Mark Levin  had  two guests  on  the show.   They were Katie Pavlick and Candice Owens. 

        Katie Pavlick is a 30 year old white female.  She was raised in the mountains of Arizona in a traditional family in a conservative environment.  She is a journalist, political commentator, and author. 

        Candice Owens is a 29 year old black female.  She is a public speaker and blogger.  She was raised by her grandparents in Connecticut in a black, liberal Democrat environment. 

        Both Pavlick and Owens are approximately the same age and female, but different in many ways.  The amazing thing is how they have both evolved to be in total agreement with their support of President Trump. 

        They discussed several topics including the failures of our education system.  Both women expressed their opinion of how the Marxist socialist propaganda taught by most collages had played a part in forming their conservative values.  They pointed out how conservative teachers and students are openly discriminated against in spite of a Code of Ethics that bans discrimination.  They both agreed that schools want diversity in looks, but do not allow diversity in speech.  

        Many universities that spread Marxist socialist propaganda are state-funded schools.  Both women are amazed that taxpayers allow this biased discrimatory agenda that restricts free speech at state-funded colleges.  They pointed out how the tenure system, which was set-up to insure free speech and expression of opposing ideas, is now preventing free expression of ideas. 

        On immigration, they both are totally opposed to the open boarders and sanctuary cities that the liberal left promote.  I have stopped using the term progressive for the liberal left because the word “progressive” implies something positive and there is nothing good coming out of the liberal left.

        On feminism, they both agree that the left has used sex to divide the country and get votes.  They point out how the Marxist ideas taught in our schools actually restricts female opportunities.

        On race, they both agreed that the liberal Democratic policies since President Johnson’s Great Society are totally racist.  The left criticizes political correctness of conservative speech while the left’s actions have enslaved blacks to a life of drugs, crime, and poverty. 

        They both feel that the move to political correctness has been tearing the country apart.  They are thankful for President Trump attacking political correctness and actually working in the best interest of the country.  Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, women, and high school graduates are all better off because of President Trump then they have been in decades. 

        If you have access to this program, it is worth your time to watch it.  For an old fart like me, these two women are part of the youth of this country.  They are intelligent and informed.  They have embraced conservative values, and recognize the liberal left for the Marxist, globalist, socialists they are.  They give me hope for the future and the future of my grandchildren.
