I saw on national news last week that a political party nominated a black
female for governor. She could be the
first black female governor. I also saw that
a political party nominated an openly gay Latina Latina
Why do the media and political parties continue to divide this country
based on race, gender, religion, and sexual preference? Are they intentionally trying to divide this
great republic? They continually attempt
to allow special interest minorities to control the majority, letting the tail
wag the dog.
We are all Americans and everyone should be given an equal
opportunity. This should not mean giving
special preference to any minority or special interest group in hiring or
college admissions.
When I watch pro basketball, I see a disproportionate number of black
players compared to that in the general population. Does this mean the NBA should put a
moratorium on hiring and playing African/Americans? Of course not, the team owners, managers, and
coaches want to play the best athletes in order to win. This should also be true in business,
government, and university admissions.
The best candidate should be hired, appointed, or admitted,
regardless of race, gender, creed, or sexual preference.
We hold these truths
to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by
their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty

It is impossible to give an advantage to
one group of people without discriminating against other groups. We have made mistakes in the past, but we
cannot rewrite history by discriminating against other groups. We must learn from history.
This great country has been divided along race, gender, religion, and
sexual preference lines to a dangerous level that has and will continue to hurt
the country. We must stop this
divide. We are all Americans and we
should act like it.
